V3 in 2010-2011

Saturday, July 2, 2011

With over hundred youngsters rightly channelizing the exuberance of their youth, V3 has set this trend of youth contributing to the betterment of the society. Perhaps we are in the right path realizing the golden words of Swami Vivekananda who once said “Get me 100 honest and sincerely conscious youngsters and I will change the entire India”. We say this because getting a National television Channel like NewsX, weekly’s like Kunguman and daily’s like Deccan Chronicle covering our efforts within just two years since inception is a no mean achievement. For V3 these two years have seen hard work and due diligence from its members with each passing day. With the process we had in place and the support of our kind hearted sponsors, we were able to educate 51 most deserving students for the year 2010. If it was not the sponsors, it would have been difficult for us to support the kids for the whole year along with providing them uniforms and stationeries.

Growing with the Kids
Our efforts did not stop with that. Our members took time in helping the students in their studies by training them over the weekends. Apart from this we wanted the students to open up and show their creativity. So, we conducted a program “Sky is the limit”, in CPS Corp school, where we conducted competitions and gave prizes to encourage the students. Sowing a seed is one good thing, but watering and nurturing it till the very end and is another great thing altogether. That’s what we hope to do with these kids and would continue to doing so in the future.

The Future Beckons
With all these efforts and achievements, V3’s pillar of light has grown taller and brighter. A taller light should illuminate a vast area isn’t it. Yes, we started the New Year with ideas to innovate what we have been doing. The Computer Awareness program was one such event where we fulfilled the dreams of many kids who wanted to learn how to use computers. After a successful academic year, our V3 team was charged up for the upcoming one. We recorded profiles of 150 kids from 10 different schools around Broadway and Avadi, collecting information on their economic status and family background. Our members took more pain(read as pleasure) this year, to pick the students who deserve this opportunity the most. Our team members went door to door and verified the students’ motivation towards studies and the willingness of their parents or guardians to stand by their wards. Among them, 58 were selected from these 10 schools. For all the hard work of our team and the dreams of the innocent kids to fructify, we need your continual support. Perhaps it’s easy to keep a piece of art portraying an abandoned lane in our showcase. But it takes a merciful heart to portray what it is to make a difference to the not-so –good parts of human life those lanes showcase.
